Singer Katy Perry has nothing but praises for her creative Filipino fans.
“This beautiful background. It was made by them. I don’t know the name of the young lady that made it but she’s a Filipino Katycat. So shout out to the Filipinos Katycats for being creative. I love all the art. This is so amazing. I wanna answer some of your questions,” said Perry in a short clip prior to her Zoom meeting with fans recently.
The pregnant Perry was referring to Me-Anne Velasco who made a creative background for the popular singer during a Zoom session with her fans from around the world.
In the Zoom meeting hosted by MCA Records with Nelson Canlas of GMA 7, Perry said: “Meanne, please send it to me. It’s so good. You guys are so creative. I see such incredible creativity especially with my fans this time around. It’s so amazing and mind blowing.”
So Meanne, daughter of Manila Bulletin reporter Melandrew Velasco, sent the “Roar” singer the Smile KP background to MCA Records. As promised by Perry, she used Meanne’s creative work.
Meanne has been fortunate enough to have personally met Perry twice. First time was at the Mall of Asia for KP’s Meet and Greet Purr Launch on Jan. 21, 2012.
The second meeting happened when Meanne won in the Meet and Greet Contest of Katy Perry’s Witness Concert at the Mall of Asia Arena last April 2, 2018.
Melandrew said Meanne and her granddaughter Ghylian Velasco were among the 10 winners in the KP Meet and Greet contest.
Last Aug. 12, Meanne was again fortunate to be chosen among KP fans for the Zoom event.
Perry, 35, and fiance Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom are getting ready to welcome their bundle of joy.
Last Sunday’s occasion showed off her baby’s beautiful room while chatting with fans as part of her “Smile Sunday.”
“I’m going to show you my baby room. Ready? Just a little. Just a little sneak peek! I have some little clothes on the wall, and then I have like, a little pink room,” she said.
Bloom is also excited for his new baby, during an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" recently.
“I’ve been feeling very grateful, obviously, I have a little baby girl on the way. I’m so excited to have a little daddy’s girl. I hope she’s going to love me as much as I love her. That daddy girl thing and that love of your life feeling is right around there,” he said.
Bloom added: “I’ve got a 9-year-old boy. He’s got a couple of other brothers but this is his first sister so he’s excited too. It’s exciting times.”
The Grammy-nominated artist is known for her songs "Firework," "Teenage Dream," "Dark Horse," "I Kissed A Girl," "Hot and Cold," among others.
