‘The School Nurse Files’ is the next Korean series to watch this September

STARS VS. JELLIES Actor Nam Joo Hyuk and actress Jung Yu Mi will be the protagonists of the upcoming Korean series

Nam Joo Hyuk and Jung Yu Mi are going to be starring in an upcoming Netflix series titled The School Nurse Files this September.

This Netflix Original series is about a supernatural war between “School Basement Jellies” and a classical Chinese teacher teamed up with a school nurse with superpowers.

Jung Yu Mi, whom we’ve previously seen in Train to Busan, would be taking on the role of Ahn Eun Young, a school nurse who has special powers that allow her to see supernatural Jellies, otherwise invisible to regular people. As she enters a new school, she discovers oddities and solves these mysteries with the help of Hong In Pyo.

The Weightlifting Fairy star Nam Joo Hyuk who has visited the Philippines back in 2018, would be playing the role of Hong In Pyo, a classical Chinese teacher in the school founded by his grandfather. Netflix reveals that In Pyo has special powers that supplement Ahn Eun-Young.

The said jellies are unseen blobs of greed that come from the school basement, after In Pyo accidentally breaks their containment seal, which unleashes them out into the world—similar to Pandora’s box. In Pyo and Eun Young works together in an all out war against the jellies to defend the school and the students.

The quirky series will be directed by Lee Kyung Mi. It is based off the original novel by Chung Se Rang.

Kim Dong Hyun, who once partnered up with the Korea-based Filipino actress Cherish Maningat in the hit drama Dr. Romantic 2, as well as child star Lee Hyobi are also said to be playing key roles in this new and peculiar Netflix series.

Catch Nam Joo Hyuk and Jung You Mi in The School Nurse Files on Netflix this Sept. 25, as it streams on Netflix.
