Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso said the amount represents his talent fee for endorsing a health supplement.

In his Facebook post Monday night, Domagoso encouraged the faithful to turn to God as they rebuild the church.

"Para sa mga minamahal kong taga-Pandacan, makakabangon po tayong lahat dito. Tiwala lang po at pananalig sa Diyos (To my beloved Pandacan residents. We will all rise from this. Just trust and have faith in God)," he said.

On July 10, a 70-minute fire hit the Santo Niño de Pandacan Parish burning everything in it including the entire convent.

The venerated 400-year-old image of the Santo Niño de Pandacan was also burned in the blaze.

But the Sacred Host survived the fire and was turned over to San Fernando de Dilao Parish Church in Paco, Manila for safekeeping.
