"With the ongoing pandemic, our jeepney drivers are very much affected with the suspension of public transportation especially when the lockdown was implemented," PHILRADS said in a Facebook post. "For five months now, most of our jeepney drivers have no other means of income, and therefore have little to no food on their table."

Although there was relief and cash-aid from the government in the early months of the lockdown, PHILRADS said most of the drivers received little to none which led some of them to beg on the streets.

Due to this, the group said they are prompted to launch the project to help jeepney drivers in their physiological needs while they await for the resumption of public transport or find other means of livelihood.

"Our small contributions, when pooled together, can encourage our drivers that we are all in this together," PHILRADS said.
