150 new police officers finish 6-month public safety course


CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – A total of 150 new police officers already finished the rigid six-month Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) training at the Regional Training Center in Lipata, Surigao City, this was announced on Thursday.

These new police officers received their respective certificates of completion following the graduation ceremony also held at the same Regional Training Center on Tuesday.

The activity was graced by Caraga Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) Deputy Regional Director for Administration Brig. Gen. Jimili L.  Macaraeg as the guest of honor and speaker.

Highlight of the activity was the giving of awards to the graduates who excelled in academics and had shown leadership skills. 

Among the awardees were: Pat. Mary Grace Daisy Z.  Cinabre who ranked first in the entire class; Pat. Mark Freddie D.  Suarez as top 2; and Pat. Mark Cesar E.  Erman as top 3.

Those who received the leadership award were: Pat. Franz Siegfred L.  Dela Cruz for being the battalion commander; Pat. Miljoy M.  Yamit for being the class president; Pat. Mark Cesar E.  Erman being the alpha company commander; Pat. Eric M.  Porpayas as bravo company commander; and Pat. Emelon O.  Torralba as charlie company commander. 

In his message, Macaraeg highlighted several improvements in the police organization including in the recruitment process and training of recruits. He also urged the graduates to be ready to face the challenges along the way. 

"Be ready for whatever challenges in your career, in your family, or in performing your responsibilities,” he said. 

“Greater challenges may come but your experiences shall be your inspiration to keep going.  Entrust everything to the Almighty God because His ways are higher than our ways" the second man in the PRO 13 hierarchy underscored.

He also thanked the training staff, led by Regional Training Director P/Lt. Col. Michael A.  Cruz, for molding the new set of law enforcers. 

"Whatever your dream may have, include what legacy you could leave for the organization. My dream is to have the best police force in the world that we can be truly proud of," he concluded. 

PSBRC Class 2020-01 “Kamandasig” was comprised of 118 males and 32 females. They were turned-over to the Regional Special Training Unit 13 in Santiago,  Agusan del Norte to undergo orientation prior to their six-month field training program.
