57 more Filipinos abroad fall victim to COVID-19


The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday reported another spike in COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) cases among Filipinos abroad with 57 new confirmed cases recorded in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. 
 
Also reported in the DFA’s latest tally of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos also include the 19 new recoveries and one new fatality.
 
As of today, August 13, 2020, the number of COVID-19 cases involving overseas Filipinos is 9,873. Of the total, 3,330 are live cases, 5,821 have recovered, and 722 succumbed to the disease. 
 
For the past three days, the DFA said no reports were received from the Americas and Europe.
 
Meanwhile, the Chinese government, through the Chinese Embassy in Manila, has turned over to the DFA an additional of 50 ventilators to support the Philippine government’s fight against the pandemic.
