Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the recommended SRP for face shields has already been submitted to DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III and will likely be approved today.

Vergeire, however, did not disclose the exact SRP as it is still awaiting Duque’s approval.

Once approved, Vergeire said the recommendation will then be transmitted to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Vergeire told Unang Hirit that the DOH conducted a survey across different markets of face shields to come up with the SRP.

The health department likewise sought the advice of experts as to what type of materials will be needed for the production of a quality face shield.

“We made sure di po tataas ang presyo depende doon sa material na sinabi sa amin ,” she said.

The Department of Transportation had earlier announced that the wearing of face shields will be required for those taking public transport starting August 15.
