DA issues new suggested retail price for basic commodities in Metro Manila

The Department of Agriculture (DA) has issued on Wednesday a new set of suggested retail price (SRP) for basic agriculture and fishery commodities sold in Metro Manila.

In an advisory, the new SRP covers 11 prime commodities namely rice, bangus, tilapia, galunggong, pork, chicken, eggs, onions, garlic, sugar, and cooking oil under the DA Administrative Order No. 10, signed by Agriculture Secretary William Dar last Aug. 3.

Under the new SRP, the special local rice costs P53 per kilo, while the local premium rice costs P45 per kilo, and the local well-milled costs P40 per kilo.

Meanwhile, the pork (kasim or pigue) costs 230 pesos per kilo while the pork liempo costs P250 per kilo.

The imported galungong costs up to P180 per kilo, while the local galunggong costs P140 per kilo.
