Barangay in Angono places four areas under ECQ for 15 days

At least two subdivisions and two other communities in a village here have been placed on enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) for 15 days starting Aug. 11.

Richard Gappi, municipal information officer of the Angono local government, said Barangay San Isidro has confirmed in a Facebook post that Phase 1 and Phase 2 in Constellation Subdivision, Arveemar Subdivision, and two blocks in Heraldville Subdivision, all located in Barangay San Isidro, are now locked down starting Tuesday.

The lockdown will last until Aug. 25, with the households with confirmed cases totally locked down but to be given food provisions by the local government, according to Alan Maniol of the office of the mayor.

The village officials have been informing its residents about the strict implementation of the quarantine protocols including the regulation of tricycle operation in the affected areas.

Gappi said based on the barangay official’s post, tricycles belonging to COTODA will be the only tricycles permitted to enter the affected villages.

The same barangay recorded the COVID-19-related death of a 71-year old resident last Aug. 10.

Twelve deaths have been recorded in the municipality since April, according to the Municipal Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit of the Municipal Health Office.

The municipal government recently announced that it is now mandatory to wear a face shield and face mask in Angono based on a recently approved town ordinance. Violators will be fined P500, P1,000 and P2,500 for the first, second, and third offenses respectively.
