Rizal Provincial gov't offers free RT-PCR test to dialysis patients

ANTIPOLO CITY- The provincial government has started offering free coronavirus disease (COVID-19) testing to residents of the province undergoing dialysis.

The Rizal Provincial Government announced on its Facebook page that it has started testing residents of Rizal undergoing dialysis starting Saturday, August 8, at the Multi Purpose Hall of the Rizal Provincial Capitol.

The free COVID-19 real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test  will be done every weekend ‘until all the dialysis patients in the province have been tested’, the  capitol said.

Patients who want to avail of the free testing are urged to inquire at the dialysis center on their  testing schedule at the capitol compound.

The patients are required to wear the dialysis patient’s tag and bring with them the case investigation form which they can secure from their respective dialysis center.

The free COVID-19 testing for dialysis patients is apart from the testing that is being done for residents who have booked their schedule on-line through the COVID-19 Test On-Line Booking System of the provincial government.

The capitol said that some dialysis centers have been requiring their patients to present their COVID-19 test result before they could undergo dialysis.

Rizal provincial information officer, Anthony Mateo told Manila Bulletin that the COVID-19 testing is expected to continue every weekend to ensure that all patients on dialysis, in the province are tested.
