Rain or Shine superstar James Yap is set to fly home next week and join the Elasto Painters’ practice session when training resumes under strict government rules.

Yap, a two-time MVP, said that he was able to get a flight back but needs confirmation on the details.

“August 11 tentative,” said Yap in a message to Manila Bulletin late Tuesday.

Since early June, Yap and partner Michela Cazzola have been in Italy with their kids Michael James and Francesca Michelle.

They are staying at the Cazzola residence in the province of Ravenna, which is about three hours away from Rome.

Since the implementation of the lockdown last March 15, the PBA only had its opener in the Philippine Cup last March 8 to start the 45th Season, before league commissioner Willie Marcial cancelled the games and practice sessions of all the 12 teams.

However, the league was given the go signal to return to practice session by the Joint Administrative Order (JAO) of the Games and Amusements Board (GAB), the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Department of Health (DOH).
