485 Coast Guard personnel recover from COVID-19

Close to 500 Coast Guard personnel have already recovered from coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while more than 100 are under treatment, the Philippine Coast Guard said.

Of the 631 total confirmed cases within the organization, 485 of them have already recuperated while the remaining 146 are still in isolation.

Majority of the active cases are asymptomatic, the Coast Guard said.

“The Philippine Coast Guard expresses its gratitude to everyone who prayed for the speedy recovery of PCG frontline personnel who were infected by COVID-19 in the performance of their duties and responsibilities amid the ongoing pandemic,” Admiral George Ursabia, Jr., Coast Guard commandant said in a statement.

“We give thanks and glory to God for His unfailing grace to our frontline personnel who have recovered and returned to service, as well as to our fellow Filipinos who include our health and safety in their daily prayers. Through your support, we remain strong and persevering. Rest assured that we will continue to aid the national government in its fight against COVID-19. We will heal as one!” Ursabia added.
