RIZAL PROVINCE - Aside from wearing face masks, at least two municipalities in the province have started requiring residents to wear face shields when they leave their homes as an added protection to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
In Binangonan, Municipal Administrator Russel Ynares told Manila Bulletin that the residents are now required to wear face shield aside from the face mask when they go out of their homes starting August 3.
Ynares said the Binangonan Public Market is now strictly implementing the No-Face Mask and Face Shield-No Entry Policy since Monday morning.
Rizal province will revert to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) starting August 4 to August 18.
In Cainta, Mayor Johnielle Keith Nieto announced in his Facebook page, that the municipal government would also require residents to wear face shield aside from face mask for those going to supermarkets and public markets.
Nieto added that the local government will not allow the reopening of gyms, fitness centers, and internet shops for now or until the active cases have not decreased.
A netizen commented on the post that the price of the face shield in Cainta has gone up from P50 to P80 in some stores Monday morning, August 3.
Another netizen said that a hypermarket in Cainta has yet to implement the wearing of face shield for shoppers.
A netizen urged the mayor to re-impose the mandatory bringing of quarantine pass each time they go to the market or grocery in the town.
