“Ito po yung tungkol sa application ng mga license permit, clearances para sa shared passive telecom power infrastructure, permit for telecom (This is about the application for license permit, clearances for shared passive telecom power infrastructure, permit for telecom),’’ Año said.

The DILG chief disclosed resolutions of the homeowners’ association and the municipal or city council will no longer be necessary under the JMC.

He stressed these requirements have been among major causes of delays in the construction of telecom towers and other similar infrastructures.

With the signing of the JMC, Año reported to the President that the target of the completion of all application requirements is now between 16 to 20 days from the previous 200 days.

With the development, Año said local government units (LGUs) and the concerned agencies will cooperate and be amenable to facilitating the issuance of the license permits, clearances and other pertinent requirements to the telecommunication companies.

In the said meeting with the Cabinet, the President pointed out that the circuitous requirements for the telecommunication firms only lead to corruption.
