The screening of three international films wait in the wings for Mon Confiado.
On Instagram, the 52-year-old actor posted a photo of himself while doing the South Korean action-adventure-crime film “The Golden Holiday” directed by Kim Bong-han.
The story follows the first trip of a family to the Philippines that gets them embroiled in an investigation of a local murder case surrounding “Yamashita’s Gold.”
According to Mon, 80 percent of the film was shot in the Philippines. The movie is set to open in South Korea on Aug. 16.
Mon was also cast in the American movie “Turncoat” led by Italian actress Annaluisa Capasa under the direction of Filipino-American indie filmmaker Marcial Chavez.
The movie is about a mild-mannered man who lives a happy and quiet life with his Italian wife in LA. Suddenly mysterious people tell him he was a former hitman in Manila. Is this a case of mistaken identity or does he have a history no one knows about? He must confront his violent past.
Lastly, the Japan-Philippines co-production “Dito (Koko).” Here, Mon plays Sese, a Kamiyama’s boxing gym trainer. The family-drama-action film stars Takashi Yuki, also the director.
Mon is the son of the late veteran actor Angel Confiado. He is known for his iconic role as Emilio Aguinaldo in the historical films “Heneral Luna” and “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.”
