This hotel group has found a way to gather safely and responsibly

Discovery Hospitality Corporation brings back fuss-free meetings, events, and celebrations with Safe Space.

If staycations will become a thing in the latter half of 2020, then hotels should never play around with safety starting now. They will have to leverage on cleaning resources, strictly follow protocols and measures set by the IATF, collaborate with the Department of Tourism and local government unit, strategize on contactless services, improve staff handling, and increase awareness. It’s not enough to mobilize bedrooms, too, as there is a need for reconstruction of key areas used for congregations and in-person functions—because we can’t talk on Zoom forever.

Discovery Hospitality Corporation (DHC), the management company behind brands Discovery Shores Boracay, Discovery Primea Makati, Club Paradise Palawan, and Discovery Suites Ortigas, is stepping up to the plate with the launch of Safe Space, an initiative that hosts meeting, events, and celebrations with all the right and safe adjustments. It is fortified by the Home Safe program, which maintains the safety, service, and care practices among Discovery’s hotels and resorts through a partnership with Lysol.

Although the government has yet to allow social gatherings, Discovery believes the first step in lowering the risk in MICE conventions, birthdays, weddings, and corporate events is to be the hotel’s own partner in safety and security, allowing only a celebration of essential moments in guests’ safe space of choice (home, office, or DHC hotels).

The hotel will arrange the nitty-gritty to ensure responsible gathering: professional partners like architects, educators, doctors, stylists within safe spaces inside Discovery Suites Ortigas and Discovery Primea Makati; close deals in the city’s addresses; select desired service through the Safe Space booking platform; luxurious spaces sanitized on a per-use basis; personal appointment calendar for Discovery meetups; and re-imagined co-working spaces.

If you’re not ready to host in-house and would prefer an intimate get-together, then you can try Space Rentals. DHC will take care of the health and sanitation requirements, design, and other key elements with your own event planners.
