PANGASINAN – The former mayor of Flora town, Apayao was shot dead Tuesday night, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The police reported that Richard De San Jose was in a drinking spree with his friends at a restaurant located in Poblacion West, Flora town, when two persons approached him and shot him from close range.
The victim was shot in the back by the unidentified gunmen. He was rushed to the Flora District Hospital where he was pronounced dead on-arrival.
De San Jose also served as vice mayor of Flora, and was currently an indigenous representative in the Sangguniang Bayan.
Recovered from the crime scene were empty shells of unknown caliber.
