Carmona extends curfew hours, tightens quarantine protocols

CARMONA, Cavite - The municipal government of Carmona is implementing stricter quarantine protocols, including extending curfew hours from 6 p.m to 5 a.m. starting Wednesday (July 29) to help stop the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The curfew in the Province of Cavite is from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Non-working residents aged 21 to 59 must bring their quarantine pass and a valid ID to verify their age when they go out to buy essential goods or avail of medical services.

Those reporting to work, on the other hand, must bring their company ID at all times while self-employed residents must bring their self-employed ID secured from the Public Employment Services Office (PESO). All residents are requested to install the Carmona COVID-19 Tracker App on their smartphones.

Senior citizens, persons below 21 years old, pregnant and lactating women, and those with health risks are still prohibited from going out. Community checkpoints manned by Carmona Municipal Police Station (MPS), barangays, and volunteer groups in strategic places will work to ensure that quarantine protocols are followed.

The municipal government re-imposed the liquor ban on July 13 to prevent social gatherings such as drinking sprees that tend to violate minimum public health standards.

Like many cities and municipalities in Cavite, Carmona has been experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases after various industries reopened last month. As of July 28, the municipality has recorded 164 confirmed cases, with 47 recoveries and four deaths.
