The Civil Service Commission (CSC) Central Office in Batasan Hills, Quezon City has recorded four confirmed cases of COVID-19.
As a result, the Central Office will remain closed from July 27 to 31, the CSC said in an advisory on Monday.
"As part of precautionary measures, the CSC Central Office shall undertake disinfection measures and conduct contact tracing. The closure is also intended to allow officials and employees to observe the required period of self-isolation pending results of the COVID-19 testing conducted on 24 July 2020," the advisory read.
The Public Assistance and Information Office had no other available details about the four confirmed cases as of posting time. These were the first confirmed cases from the Central Office, it said.
It was also not immediately clear what manner of COVID-19 testing was done.
The Central Office has actually been closed since July 15 when a three-day disinfection of the premises was carried out. It remained closed the following week, from July 20 to 24, for "continued disinfection."
"CSC clients are advised not to visit the CSC CO from 27-31 July 2020," the advisory stated, citing the COVID-19 cases.
Incidentally, the Commission---in response to the demands of the pandemic--recently launched a web-based application that allows clients to book appointments for its records management services. The app is dubbed the Online Registration, Appointment, and Scheduling System, or ORAS.
A number of CSC Regional Offices have also been using online scheduling applications as part of public health standards against the COVID-19 pandemic.
