Man bludgeons live-in partner to death, buries her under their house in Catbalogan

TACLOBAN City - A 65-year-old man voluntarily surrendered to authorities a week after he claimed to have brutally killed, and buried his live-in partner under their house in Catbalogan City.

Samar Police Director Col. Andre Dizon identified the suspect as Antonio Mustacisa, 65, a construction worker, and the victim as Annabelle Carcillar, 34, and a caregiver. They were both residents of Purok 6, Barangay 3.

Dizon said the suspect walked into the Catbalogan City Police Station on Tuesday, July 21, to surrender, and personally report that he had bludgeoned his partner with a hammer until she died on July 14, at around 10 p.m.

He said he only did so because of extreme jealousy.

Mustacisa also told police that he placed a gag around his live-in partner’s mouth to keep her from shouting.

After killing, the suspect said he buried Carcillar’s body under their house located in Pier 2, and covered the grave with galvanized sheets.

The police were able to recover the victim's body which had already started to decompose.

They were still conducting follow-up investigation at the crime scene.
