Labor offices in Jeddah temporarily closed

The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah on Tuesday announced the temporary closure of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) offices in its confines for at least 18 days after one of the personnel in these offices died from COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) complications.

In an advisory, the Consulate said three other POLO/OWWA staff have also been directed to stay home after developing COVID-19 symptoms.

Despite the temporary closure of the combined labor offices, payout of the DOLE-AKAP cash assistance will continue until Thursday, July 23, 2020, at the Consulate.

On the other hand, the delivery of cash assistance to the respective homes of OFW-beneficiaries will proceed as usual.

Consular services such as passport, document authentication, and assistance-to-nationals will remain open to the public.
