LTO warns of fake account

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has disowned the Facebook page bearing its name which recently hosted a gaming stream.

It said that the page was a "fake account."

"We conducted an investigation relative to the alleged post of LTO on game streaming. This was proved to be a fake account," the agency said.

A screenshot of the Facebook page with the name "Land Transportation Office-(LTO)" streaming a "Call of Duty" mobile game made rounds on social media over the weekend.

The stream, which was shared over 14,000 times, has since been taken down but the apparent fake Facebook page is still active.

The LTO advised the public to be more vigilant and only follow its legitimate social media pages and transact through its official websites and email accounts.

The agency added that the only official accounts maintained by the LTO are website www.lto.gov.ph, www.lto.net.ph, and https://portal.lto.gov.ph; Facebook page Land Transportation Office-Philippines; and email: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]
