Story of new Anthony Rosaldo song sounds familiar: ‘It’s heartbreak’

Anthony Rosaldo

After his marked stint on "The Clash," Anthony Rosaldo was one of the fastest rising singers of GMA until the COVID-19 pandemic nipped it in the bud, drat.

"Ang daming artists din na nagsa-suffer ng ganitong dilemma. Of course, limited ang mga platforms namin," he said in an interview with Bulletin Entertainment.

Despite that show business is one of the hardest hit industries with mass gathering banned or strictly limited to arrest the spread of the virus, Anthony does his part to update his fans from time to time by doing livestream sessions.

He also released "Pwedeng Tayo" about two people who found love at the wrong time.

The song was written by Vehnee Saturno, Davey Langit, Jonathan Manalo, and Edwin Marollano during the first ever FILSCAP Master Camp.

The Kapuso singer revealed choosing the song as his next single was no-brainer especially as he is out to reinvent himself as artist.

"Very skeptic ako noong naghahanap ng next song for my single. I really wanted to reinvent my music, give my listeners a new one to fall in love with. And then came the day for my song listening (session),” he said. “Funny, kasi I will be presented only one lang pala. And the reason is that Sir Kedy Sanchez (the producer) found the perfect one na.”

The artists added: “Nagustuhan ko agad ang ‘Pwedeng Tayo’ when I heard it. Fresh music, easy listening and (it has) very relatable story.”

He recorded the song at home during quarantine. The musical arranger, the backup vocalists, and the guitarists, as well as the vocal processing were done in their respective homes. Only the final mix of the song was done in the studio.

Anthony found the recording experience “fun and challenging at the same time.”

“Iba kasi yung nagre-record ka under the supervision of a professional. Sure ka na maganda ang kalalabasan. This time, it was all up to me.

“Pero, siyempre, I tried to do my best. Perfectionist kasi ako sa sarili kong work so I really made sure na maganda yung quality ng ipinasa kong material.”

“Pwedeng Tayo” is relatable to those who’ve gone through heartbreaks.

“Hindi lahat nakakahanap agad ng perfect match. Either you fall for the wrong person or it wasn’t your time yet. Sometimes it takes a lot of tries, a lot of heartbreaks to find ‘The One.’ Pero the thing is, you must try. Kapit lang.”
