PH labor office in Kuwait reopens Sunday; to distribute cash aid to overseas Filipinos

The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Kuwait will finally reopen Sunday, July 19, the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait announced.

Starting 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the labor office in Kuwait will resume operation to cater to the concerns of overseas Filipinos, specifically the distribution of financial help to approved nationals.

According to the embassy, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are dedicated to the distribution of the Department of Labor and Employment’s Abot Kamay ang Pagtulong (AKAP) financial assistance to overseas Filipinos.

Those who have labor and welfare concerns, on the other hand, are asked to reach out to POLO’s hotline number for assistance. They will need to fill out a form online, the labor office said.

Filipinos, who need to renew their Overseas Workers Welfare Administration membership, are advised to visit the POLO Kuwait’s Facebook page for instructions.

Meanwhile, verification services and the Balik Mangagawa processing are currently suspended. POLO Kuwait said it will issue an announcement on the resumption of operations.

In visiting the labor office, Labor Attache Nasser Mustafa reminded the overseas Filipinos to strictly observe preventive measures like social distancing to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
