For the first time, young actress Kathryn Bernardo did an interview with her father, uploaded on YouTube.

She described her 67-year-old Papa as a "very special man" in her life.

"A lot of you don't know much about him kasi he is based in Cabanatuan and also camera shy din siya. So for the first time ever ma-interview natin siya just for you to get to know him more," the actress said.

Among questions to Teodore from fans was about the relationship of Kathryn and actor Daniel Padilla. How did the he gain his trust?

"Alam niya 'yung lugar niya," the father said. "'Di matanong, 'di mayabang, swabe lang, okay lang."

Asked what he said when Kathryn told him about their romance oh so many years ago, Teodore gave sound advice.

"Sabi ko pag-isipan munang mabuti then kung okay go, it's your feelings."

But, really, he had mixed emotions the first time he learned about it.

"Natakot at natuwa. Wala ka naming magagawa sa kanilang dalawa, it's all up to them and they're in their right age.

Teodore appreciates it that Daniel is always there for the Bernardo family.

"(Si Daniel) parang boy scout, lagind handa. 'Yung pagtulong laging and'yan para ibigay, handang tumulong."

He added that he also sat down for some "talking" with the actor.

Kathryn noted it wasn't an easy journey for Daniel; that it took some time before both her parents trusted him.

"It took years. Siyempre, protective ka," she said.

Kathryn gave advice to men on how to win over the parents of their beloved.

You have to earn that trust. Respect is very important."
