Mayor Francis Zamora urged residents to call the attention of barangay officials or the local police if they see any breach in health protocols as the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) still remains.

“If you see someone violating our policies, particularly those not wearing face masks and ignore social distancing, do not hesitate to report them,” Zamora said.

“We have an ordinance that penalizes those without masks. It is really when we are outside (when) we need to wear a face mask at all times,” he added.

Ordinance No. 27 Series of 2020 requires the mandatory wearing of face masks or other  protective gears in public to contain the spread of the virus.

Under the measure, violators will be slapped with a maximum fine of P5,000.

The mayor has also encouraged the public to report mass gatherings in their area.
