In a video message, Diocese of Antipolo Bishop Francisco de Leon and Auxiliary Bishop Nolly Buco called on the faithful “to seek the Lord’s blessings and protection against COVID-19.”

The bishops expressed solidarity with them as they rallied the faithful of Antipolo to remain hopeful in the face of crisis.

(Almighty God, we thank You for the gift of life that you gave and continues to sustain. We come to you with faith in your wisdom in the face of the crisis we are experiencing. We commend to you the pain and sufferings of our ailing brothers and sisters who seek deliverance and look forward to a better and more peaceful tomorrow.)

The Church leaders prayed for protection against the virus as well as healing and recovery for the afflicted. They expressed hope for an end to the pandemic around the world.

Bishop De Leon, earlier, urged the faithful to seek the intercession of San Roque, the patron saint against the plague.

The Department of Health has recorded more than 700 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Rizal, with majority of the cases recorded in Antipolo City.
