P2.9-B Urdaneta City by-pass road to help reduce traffic

PANGASINAN - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started the construction of a 7.17-kilometer-long by-pass road starting at the junction of Manila North Road in Barangay Nancayasan and ends at Manila North Road junction in Barangay Anonas which is expected to address the problem of traffic in Urdaneta City.

The Urdaneta City By-Pass Road project will decongest traffic especially during peak hours along Urdaneta City. DPWH Regional Information Officer Esperanza C. Tinaza said the project will reduce travel time from 1 hour to 30 minutes, saving at least 30 minutes from Villasis, Pangasinan town proper to Binalonan, Pangasinan).
The travel time reduction will contribute to how the people near and around the area conduct different economic, social, and other activities.

” The by-pass road traverses on a flat and rolling terrain and crosses two major road intersections along Urdaneta-Dagupan Road and Urdaneta-Manaoag Provincial Road and most likely, it will be completed  by December, 2022,”  DPWH Regional Director Ronnel M. Tan said.

The project, worth P2.985 billion, is being implemented by the Construction Division of the DPWH Regional Office 1.
