7-months-old infant recovers from COVID-19 in Las Piñas City


A seven-month-old baby boy from Barangay CAA/BF International was among the 11 patients who recovered from coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Las Piñas City on Thursday (July 2).

Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the City Health Office is continuing to record a high recovery rate from the coronavirus, with the city's total recoveries now at 345. 

 "Ang ating lokal na pamahalaan ay tuluy-tuloy sa kanyang mga hakbang na tugunan ang mga COVID cases at mapigilan ang pagkalat ng virus sa lungsod (The city government is continuing to address COVID cases in the city to fight the spread of the disease)," Aguilar said.

 Dr. Ferdinand Eusebio, CHO chief, said they have conducted swab testing on 5,806 individuals and rapid testing on 7, 623.

As of July 2, his office has recorded  a total of 500 confirmed cases, with 120 active and 35 deaths, as well as 345 recoveries, 57 probable cases, and 74 suspect.

The CHO head also said they are continuing their expanded targeted testing program and are working hard on screening and contact tracing of individuals who have been exposed to COVID-19-positive patients.
