SORSOGON CITY - Two human rights advocates were gunned down by motorcycle-riding assailants in this city Saturday morning.
Vince Casilihan, Bayan Bicol spokesperson confirmed to Manila Bulletin the killing of Ryan Hubilla, a senior high school student, and Nelly Bagasala, a resident of Barcelona, both staffers of Karapatan Sorsogon.
Hubilla and Bagasala had taken a tricycle to meet someone in Barangay Cabid-an when gunmen fired at them, Casilihan said.
As far as the police is concerned the identities remained unidentified.
"Unidentified pa yun nabaril, pati barangay di sila kilala," Col. Bong Buslig, Sorsogon police chief, told the Manila Bulletin in a text message.
It was earlier reported that the victims were employees of a lending company.
"Sa ngayon, wala pa pong update yung hepe ng Sorsogon City kasi patuloy pa ang ginagawang imbestigasyon," Buslig said.
