QUEZON CITY - The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has assured continuous delivery of public service after closing its Central Office as a precautionary move following the death of one of its staff.

The DHSUD announced the suspension of work Friday and Monday to allow the disinfection of the entire building after an employee died of an unknown illness on Thursday.
“We closed the DHSUD Central Office as a pro-active step to ensure the health and safety of our employees and clients,” DHSUD Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario said as the department awaits the medical results of the late employee.
“The health and safety of our employees and clients is our utmost concern,” he added.
The DHSUD Central Office was subjected to building-wide disinfection during the weekend to ensure its suitability for work.
The Regional Offices of the National Capital Region and Region 4B, as well as the Human Settlements Adjudication Commission offices, which share the DHSUD’s Quezon City address, are also covered by the work suspension.
The department, however, assured that its services will continue despite the temporary lockdown of its offices and work will resume on Tuesday.
"While the safety of our staff and walk-in clients are paramount, we will not relent in serving the general public through online transactions and hotlines," the DHSUD chief said.
