SEC closes PICC office due to COVID

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has suspended work at its main office in the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City from June 26 to June 30, 2020 after some personnel tested positive for COVID-19.

“The SEC Main Office will be closed to facilitate disinfection of the premises, after two employees and two outsourced personnel tested positive in rapid antibody tests for COVID-19,” the commission said.

It added that “The employees and outsourced personnel are currently under strict home quarantine and being monitored by the Commission’s medical staff. They shall undergo confirmatory tests for COVID-19.”

The employees and outsourced personnel have no history of travel abroad, no known exposure to confirmed positive COVID-19 cases and no symptoms.

The two employees have been working from home since March 13, 2020. However, they reported at the SEC Main Office for rapid antibody testing on June 24 and 25.

The said it is implementing all necessary health protocols, pursuant to and consistent with the directives and guidelines of the Department of Health.

The SEC will continue adopting alternative work arrangements, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Civil Service Commission, to minimize disruption in the delivery of services to the public.
