Overseas Pinoys afflicted with COVID-19 now at 6,021 with 455 recently-reported cases

The total number of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) infections among Filipinos abroad has ballooned to more than 6,000 with the addition of 455 “recently reported” confirmed cases, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday.

These recently reported but newly tallied coronavirus cases among overseas Filipinos were recorded in the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, and the Middle East/Africa regions.

Sixteen (16) new deaths were also reported from at least three countries in the Middle East while 336 have recovered also from the same region.

To date, the total number of Filipinos abroad with confirmed COVID-19 cases is at 6,021.

Consistent for the past several weeks, the Middle East remains the region with the biggest number of Filipino fatalities at 185, followed by the Americas at 163, Europe at 92, and the Asia and the Pacific with only 2.
