The Las Piñas City Health Office (CHO) reported that the number of patients recovering from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the city is higher compared to those afflicted with the virus.

Dr. Ferdinand Eusebio, CHO head, said on June 14 they recorded six recoveries compared to only three active cases.

Eusebio said that the city can continue to combat the spread of the virus only if residents will follow the health protocols set by the government.

As of June 14, the CHO recorded at total of 161 active cases, bringing a total of 381 confirmed affected with the virus.

It added that they have recorded a total of 188 recoveries, with 32 deaths, 26 probable cases, and 36 suspected cases.

Eusebio said that the four barangays with the highest number of cases were CAA/BF International with 39 confirmed cases, followed by Manuyo Dos with 30, Pilar with 29, and Pulanglupa Dos with 28.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar continues to appeal to residents to just stay home if they don’t have any official business outside.

Aguilar said that the city government is also continuing its expanded targeted testing at the Ligtas Center located at Daniel Fajardo Fajardo to those with symptoms and with possible exposure to patients affected with the virus.

She said that aside from the expanded targeted testing that the CHO was conducting, the local government has a COVID-19 testing-on-wheels as part of efforts to reach out and serve all barangays.
