BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) has filed multiple charges against a couple for the death of their nephew whom they were supposed to care for.

Spouses Loly Ann Duccog Dalipog and Efren Uyammi Dalipog, residents at No. 37 Purok 3, Ambiong, Aurora Hill here, were charged of murder, violation of Section 10 of Republic Act 7610, and Section 9 of RA 11332, and obstruction of justice in relation to the death of their seven-year old nephew on May 30.

Two others - Wenzel Duccog and Marcelino Walang, who aided in sneaking out of Baguio the remains of the deceased, were charged for obstruction of justice and for violation of Sec 9 of RA 11332, or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Law, for travelling without permit.

BCPO Legal Officer Atty. Ford Tuazon and Police Major Pablo Nead, chief of the City Investigation and Detective Management Unit (CIDMU), filed the cases at the Baguio City Prosecutor’s Office on June 10.

"The cases were filed after a thorough investigation conducted, manifested by collated evidence and statement of witnesses that the victim was repeatedly maltreated and strangulated resulting to his death," the lawyer said.

City Director Police Col. Allen Rae Co said asphyxia by strangulation due to hanging was the cause of death of the boy as shown in the autopsy conducted by the PNP Crime Laboratory service which negated the claim of aunt Lolly Ann that the boy committed suicide.
