11 Lanao Sur towns get new ambulances

MARAWI CITY ~ Lanao del Sur 1st District Representative Ansarrudin "Hooky" Alonto Adiong turned over brand new ambulances to 11 local government units (LGUs) on Wednesday to augment the province's emergency medical response and services.

Each ambulance is equipped with stretchers, medical instruments, accessories, and peripherals.

The LGUs that received the ambulances are Amai Manabilang, Bubong, Maguing, Marantao, Poona Bayabao, Lumba Bayabao, Piagapo, Taraka, Buadipuso Buntong, Tagoloan, and Wao towns.

Adiong said the new ambulances aim to augment the emergency medical response and services of the LGUs amidst the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

He said he will not waver from his commitment of helping LGUs during this trying time since one of his top priorities is providing efficient health services to his constituents.

Adiong, who also attended the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (PIATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases meeting, said he will look into some interventions that will help the PIATF in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mayor James Manabilang of the municipality of Amai Manabilang expressed gratitude to Congressman Adiong for the new ambulance.

He said the ambulance will be very helpful to his municipality especially now that they lack government vehicles for COVID-19 response.

Adiong also said he will also be giving dump trucks to the municipalities with existing public markets, namely, Ditsaan Ramain, Saguiaran, Taraka, and Marantao.

The turn-over ceremony was witnessed by Provincial Gov. Mamintal 'Bombit' Adiong, Jr., and Vice Gov. Mohammad Khalid 'Mujam' Rakiin Adiong.
