Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said on Saturday, June 6, that the city has conducted rapid testing to about 1,698 residents at Barangay San Dionisio, which is far beyond their target of 1,400 individuals since the barangay was placed under calibrated lockdown last June 4 up to midnight of June 6.

Olivarez said that the rapid testing was conducted at the Palanyag gymnasium. Of the total 1,678 individuals who were tested for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), 78 were found positive. Of that number, 44 were found to be asymptomatic.

Olivarez said that the 78 individuals will still have to undergo confirmatory test next week. If found to be still positive from the virus, they will be brought to the city's designated isolation facility.

The densely populated Tramo 1 and 2 were placed under calibrated lockdown last June 4 upon recommendation of the City Health Office for having the highest number of COVID-19 cases.

To date, Barangay San Dionsio recorded a total of 119 cases of COVID-19, with 41 active cases and 76 recoveries, with two fatalities.
