In his announcement on his Facebook page, Mayor George Ricardo Gacula said that the 23,000 senior citizens included in the town’s master list of the Municipal Social Welfare Department, who have been receiving the annual Taytay Municipal Cash Gift to senior citizens, are entitled to receive P500 each during the GCQ.

Even the family of the elderly, who died this year, will receive the cash aide dubbed “Taytay Cash Gift on GCQ”, according to Gacula.

Gacula explained in his post that the cash assistance, will just be a partial advance of the yearly cash gift being given to senior citizens every November amounting to P1,800.

So come November, the senior citizens will just receive P1,300.

Representatives of the municipal government will be going house-to-house to hand over the cash gift to the senior citizens as they are still not allowed to go out during GCQ.

Aside from the cash assistance for the seniors, the town government continues to distribute food packs to residents.
