In an interview by GMA-7, Lopez said that gyms are part of the high-risk establishments that they have reviewed.

Recently, the DTI allowed the resumption of operations of salons and barbershops, but in a limited capacity.

Lopez said that they are finding a balance between the potential transmission risk and the nature of the business.

Under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), malls were allowed to operate but with certain requirements.

Starting June 1, Metro Manila will be under GCQ, which allows some essential businesses to operate, but again in limited capacity.
