According to the revised modified enhanced and general community quarantine (MECQ/GCQ) fare matrix, tricycle drivers may charge their passengers P15 if the latter’s destination is only within one kilometer from their pick-up point

Meanwhile an additional P2 will be added for every succeeding kilometer.

The public information office said that drivers are required to post a fare matrix guide inside their tricycles and should also limit their passengers to only one per ride.

Residents who will encounter tricycle drivers violating such measures may report to the city’s Public Safety and Traffic Office through their Facebook page.

On Monday, the local government started allowing tricycles, electronic tricycles and pedicabs to operate. However, they must strictly follow quarantine measures.

Among those include: wearing of face masks, placing of alcohol inside the vehicle and installing cash box and plastic barriers between the driver and the passenger.

Tricycle drivers will also follow an odd-even number coding scheme and are only allowed to transport passengers point-to-point and within the city.
