Mati Incident Management Team (IMT) head Dr. Ben Hur Catbagan said in a statement that the second wing of their Alternate Care Site at Isolation Unit of the Divine Healer, formerly known as the Milagrosa Retreat Center, is set to be completed this week.

Catbagan said the new wing has a 16-bed capacity in addition to the first building with a 14-bed capacity.

“Like the first building, the new wing is also complete with air-condition units, wifi connection, television with cable, and other amenities to make the stay of the patients as comfortable as possible,” Catbagan said.

He added that aside from persons under investigation (PUI) facility, they also have persons under monitoring (PUM) facility that could accommodate more or less 20 people at any given time, in case of emergency related to COVID-19.

Mati City Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat earlier inked a memorandum of agreement with the Mati Clergy for the free use of their Milagrosa Retreat Center as a PUI facility. The City Government spent about P10 million for the rehabilitation of the entire compound that now houses the two buildings for PUI, the triage center, and the quarters for the frontliners while on duty.
