The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) announced that it is holding a series of free online lessons on Filipino Sign Language (FSL) starting on May 30.

In a post on May 23, DLS-CSB said the lessons will be taught through a Facebook live video on Benilde’s School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies Facebook page beginning May 30 at 4 p.m.

The college said the lessons are free but they encourage participants to donate for the #SignForSigns Fundraising Campaign.

The campaign aims to raise funds for the living allowances of deaf students who were stranded in their dormitories, faculty who are under a “no work, no pay” scheme, and FSL access team for coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) who render their services as media interpreters daily in news broadcast networks amid the pandemic, DLS-CSB said.

The college also added that proceeds will also fund indigent deaf scholars who need to return to their provinces after the quarantine is lifted.
