KIDAPAWAN CITY – The executive assistance of Cotabato City Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi was shot dead while he was taking breakfast at an eatery along Notre Dame Avenue in Cotabato City Monday morning, the police reported.

Slain was Aniceto “Boy” Rasalan, a former broadcaster, who shot several times in the head by a still unidentified gunman.

According to the police, Rasalan was having his breakfast at the eatery and was also talking to some friends when the gunman came into the establishment and shot him several times.

After shooting the victim, the suspect left and boarded a get-away vehicle parked just a few meters from the eatery.

It was actually the second time that Rasalan became a victim of a shooting incident after a similar attempt on his life last July 21, 2015.
Rasalan was a former broadcaster in Cotabato City before he became active in politics in 2013.
He was appointed executive assistant of the late Cotabato City Guiapal “Jojo” Guiani, younger brother of the current mayor.

Rasalan went on to also become Guiani-Sayadi’s executive assistant in 2016.
Police are still looking at all possible motives in Rasalan’s murder.
