Violators of quarantine measures will be apprehended in Taytay, Rizal

TAYTAY, RIZAL — The local government here warned violators of the quarantine measures that authorities will continue to arrest them and file charges in court in compliance with the IATF guidelines that are being implemented in this town, which has been placed under General Community Quarantine since May 16.

In his report to Mayor George Ricardo Gacula, chief of police, Police Major Rodel Ban-O said that a total of 397 persons were arrested as a result of the ‘Oplan Sita’ conducted from May 17 to May 19.

Out of the number of violators, 149 persons were caught violating social distancing measures and the ban on back riding, 78 for not possessing quarantine pass; driving without license, eight persons with no face mask, while 119 were arrested for other violations.

The municipal government said the violators were either issued citation tickets and were sanctioned under the existing and approved municipal ordinances.

As of May 20, there were 56 confirmed cases, with 23 recoveries and nine deaths. Three new cases were recorded in this town.
