CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City -- Despite the active role of the Philippine National Police in the fight against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, Caraga Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) has continued to intensify its fight against illegal drugs which resulted in the successful arrest of two drug suspects in the region.
In his flash report to PRO 13 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Joselito T. Esquivel, Jr. based here on Friday, Metro Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) City Director Col. Canilo A. Fuentes said the city’s BCPO drug enforcement unit (DEU) also seized a total of P295, 000 worth of illegal drugs during the buy-bust operation on Wednesday.
Along with the 13th Regional Intelligence Division in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Region 13 (PDEA-13), and BCPO-DEU team, arrested the two drug suspects around 4 p.m. in Purok 5, Barangay Maon, this city.
The arrested suspects are now in their respective arresting units while preparing appropriate charges in court.
Their identities were temporarily withheld pending the arrest of their other contacts.
