Olivarez disclosed that a total of 178 4Ps beneficiaries in the city returned the amount after learning they were ineligible to avail of the assistance and now confident that the 77,674 beneficiaries under SAP will now respectively receive their cash aid.

Because of this development, the mayor said that he is certain that the city would finish the distribution of the SAP cash assistance in all 16 barangays today (May 10), the final deadline set by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

“We praise the 4Ps beneficiaries and retired pensioners in city’s 16 barangays who showed their honesty and sincerity in returning the SAP cash aid,” Olivarez said.

According to Atty. Lanie Malaya, chief of the Business Permit and Licensing Office hat during the cross-matching of the names of the SAP beneficiaries identified by the city government learned that there were 4Ps beneficiaries who were also included in the list.

As of yesterday, Malaya said that only around 3,500 families, or five percent of the target beneficiaries, had yet to receive the P8,000 cash aid.

She said that the city government has already distributed 91 percent of cash aid under the Social SAP last Thursday.

It was learned that Paranaque is second from Caloocan City among the cities in Metro Manila that received the highest amount of cash assistance from SAP and the highest distribution rate so far.

Olivarez also thanked day care center teachers, personnel of the city treasurer’s office headed by Dr. Anthony Pulmano and city front liners for assisting barangay officials to fast-track the distribution of cash aid from the SAP.
