Pampanga to participate in COVID-19 survey, mass testing on May 11

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga - Governor Dennis Pineda announced that the province has been selected by the Philippine Survey Research Center (PSRC) to be among the participants in its coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic Survey.

Pineda made the announcement even as he asked his province mates to participate in the survey and mass testing which will start on May 11 is selected areas that will be randomly picked from among 22 local government units in the province.

“Kung kayo po ay mapipili para sa survey, makinig at tumugon lamang po sa katanungan ng survey team at sundan lamang po ang instruction para sa pagkuha ng samples para sa mass testing.” . Pineda said.

The mass testing and survey team will be accompanied by the Barangay Council and their respective City/Municipal Health Offices and Rural Health Units.

To date, the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU) has announced 76 confirmed cases here with 45 recoveries and nine deaths. There were 840 suspected cases of which, 225 were still admitted on various hospitals within the province and 181
of the were tested negative.

Angeles City has the highest number of reported suspect cases with 235, followed by City of San Fernando with 156.

The municipalities of Arayat, San Luis, Minalin and Masantol were still COVID-19 free, so with Mexico, Sta. Rita, and Guagua, whose lone coronavirus case each have already recovered.
