MIAA appeals to foreign embassies to help citizens stuck at NAIA

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal appealed to the different embassies in the country to help their citizens who have been stranded at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 for several weeks now.

Monreal confirmed that he received information that some 15 foreigners have been staying at the terminals without money due to various reasons.

He added that airport personnel have been trying to help these foreigners by providing them with food. But the MIAA cannot extend financial help to the stranded foreign nationals for them to buy tickets back to their respective countries.

He asked embassy officials and staff to help their stranded citizens out of their miserable situation at the airport terminals.

Some of those stranded at Terminal 1 are from the UK and Nigeria, while others are from a number of Asian countries.
