Mati CSWDO halfway through SAP distribution

DAVAO CITY – The Mati City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) has reported that 50 percent of its target beneficiaries under the national government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP) have already received their cash benefits.

In a record obtained from the CSWDO, Mati City Information Office (CIO) Head Ben Tesiorna said,the office has so far served 9,625 total SAP beneficiaries in the city as Monday afternoon, May 4.

The target SAP beneficiaries for Mati City is 18,985. The CSWDO, on Monday, distributed the P6,000 cash amelioration to Barangay Dahican with 1,738 served out of the target 2,066 beneficiaries.

Of the 26 barangays in Mati, only Barangays Badas and Central have yet to receive their respective fundings due to the delay in the submission of the validated list to CSWDO as of May 3, Sunday, Tesiorna said.

“Barangay Matiao has, meanwhile, received the SAP funding, but has yet to start disbursing these to the beneficiaries,” he added.

Barangay Badas and Matiao are scheduled to receive the SAP assistance on Tuesday, May 5, while Barangay Central is scheduled on May 6, Wednesday, with about 5,097 target beneficiaries.

According to CSWDO, the total amount released to 25 barangays is P80,724,000 with unclaimed amount totaling P11,520,000 excluding Barangay Central.

Tesiorna said the City of Mati has been allocated with P113,910,000 budget for SAP.
