DFA Sec. Locsin, against increase in PhilHealth contributions of OFWs

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary joined the strong opposition on planning the increase in the contributions of overseas Filipino workers who are also members of PhilHealth.

“Why don't we just leave OFWs alone except to help them when they are in trouble. Their blood but better wages abroad account for 10% of our GDP according to the assholes who want to take some of their earnings," said Secretary Teddy Locsin Jr. in a Twitter post.

Many netizens have aired their sentiments on social media, creating a firestorm and eventually catching the attention of government officials.

Some OFWs reasoned out that they are against it because they are not the ones who will ultimately benefit from the increase in PhilHealth contributions.
